Last week I came across this quote and it stopped me in my tracks. I shared it on instagram, but I felt like sharing it again. It was the perfect reminder for me last week and let’s face it, always. My friend Brooke recently blogged about making a “done” list instead of a “to do” list. That way, instead of focusing on all that you haven’t been able to do, you instead focus on the things that you have done. I tried it the other day, and boy oh boy, for a list lover like myself, it was wonderful! Everything I wrote down I still crossed off, because I love crossing things off, but it was great to look at my list at the end of the day and see all the things I had accomplished instead of the things that were neglected yet again. It’s like the glass half full of to do lists. 😉 And yes, I included things like brushing my teeth, taking a shower, playing hide and go seek, visiting neighbors, and baking things in Ellie’s pretend kitchen. Because those are very important things in this house! 😉
P.S. Ellie & Addie’s darling shirts are from Tiny Fancies, our crib can be found here, fabric bows are from Bloomies Handmade, and floral baby blanket is from Layla Bell Designs. Our bedding is from Ikea and pillows are from Costco, Gordmans, and Target. Our curtains are also from Target and the painting above our bed is a commissioned piece from my sister. She sells other originals and prints HERE (she’s amazing!)
P.S.S. I should probably note that our bedroom does NOT look like this currently. In fact, it’s covered in laundry…again 😉
I do the same thing, except I call it a ta-da! list. 🙂 It's so important to recognize what we have done, especially when it may not match up with what we wanted to have done during a day!
Really needed to read that quote today, thanks for sharing <3
I love the idea of a "done" list! What a fabulous way to brighten your outlook.
Love these pictures! You are awesome.
