When Ellie turned 7, she requested a camping birthday party! She loves exploring and camping (just like her aunt Erin) and we had so much fun brainstorming ideas together and prepping for her party!
DECOR:
We kept the decor super cute and simple. Our teepee was the perfect touch – and so were our Christmas trees! Haha. I designed the prints and the banner (with a matching invite too!) The mountains behind our dining table were a last minute touch – made out of blue wrapping paper!
Ellie wanted to match her My Generation Doll (which was another inspiration for this party!) so I searched high and low for a matching outfit. I finally found a striped pink shirt and cute olive green joggers from Primary.com ! So happy I found those.

ACTIVITIES
I like to think of a craft or something fun for them to do when the party guest come in the door. We found these adorable a frame wood tents online and they were SO cute for them to paint! Brian put them together the night before (and added super glue for extra strength too)
We also played toss the marshmallow in the campfire and for a surprise, we set up our big camping tent upstairs filled with balls! They had so much fun playing!
Their take home goodies included their painted tent, a s’mores kit and a mini flashlight!

THE CAKE
The cake was probably my favorite part! I made a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting and used a wood slice cake stand. I got the idea for a camping cake from my friend Jamie at Wander and Scout – and it was so easy and cute! I used bottlebrush trees, candles for the fire, hershey’s chocolate for the fire pit, and construction paper for the tent and sign!
