Well, the soon-to-be nursery. It currently houses the crib and a rocking chair – that I got for a steal of a deal. Other than that, it’s completely blank and in desperate need of decorating. The closet on the other hand, is in tip top shape! Pretty sure the moment we found out we were having another baby girl, I pulled the box of baby clothes down from the garage shelves. Baby girl has plenty of hand-me-downs, but I’ve also invested in a few key pieces for her as well.
One afternoon, while Ellie was taking a very rare and much needed nap, Addie and I sorted and folded and prepped the closet for baby. Of course, there were a few reading breaks in between and every few minutes or so, she would climb into the crib and break in the mattress with a few jumps. 🙂
It’s crazy to think that Addie won’t be my littlest “baby” anymore. She’s TWO this summer and I’m still in shock. Luckily, she’ll still humor me and pretend that she’s a baby. 😉 She likes walking around the house with a binky in her mouth – the same one she refused to take since birth. She asks to be swaddled up in any and every blanket and held “like a baby!” and takes pretend naps in the crib. I often like to reminisce about when she was just a tiny newborn! It was a big change going from one kid to two, and I’m sure going to three will be the same! When Addie was a baby, I remembering noting that suddenly having a baby:
Changes a quick grocery store trip into an hour long workout.
Changes sleep into nighttime milk and cookie parties. (Milk for her, cookies for me 😉
Changes fast paced days to slow paced, happier days.
One thing that has stayed the same since she was born is our complete adoration for Carter’s baby clothes. Addie has been wearing Carter’s brand since the day she was born and we can’t stop, won’t stop! The new Little Baby Basics collection is one of my favorite lines – featuring super soft baby essentials like bodysuits, sleepers, and outfits in the most darling patterns. I’m pretty picky about the brands of clothing I buy for the girls – and Carter’s passes every test. They’re clothing is soft, holds up during all our adventures, and the prices are just right. A lot of the Carter’s pieces I had for Addie (and even Ellie!) can still be used for baby sis, they’re still in excellent condition. Though, I couldn’t resist buying Addie and baby sis a few coordinating pieces – because you know how much I love having my girls match!
And a sweet deal just for YOU! Through 7/4, you can take 20% off your purchase of $40 or more! (See coupon below) This sweet all white “take me home” set keeps begging to come home with me. I may have to pick it up! 😉
