A Sunny Valentine’s Day Weekend

I’ve said it a million times before and I’ll say it again, holidays are ten times more magical with kiddos. I’ve never been much of a Valentine’s fan, Brian and I usually stick to a date night at home with take out and a movie. But this year, Ellie really got us in the spirit!

We decorated the house with pinks and reds and hearts covered every window!

I had grand plans to design some adorable Valentines cards for Ellie, but when it came down to it, the $3 box of Princess valentines from Target trumped all. Ellie was super excited to bring them to her class. And I believe after her preschool party, she downed her Valentine treats within the hour.

Ellie wrote her name on every valentine! This was one of the more legible ones. πŸ™‚ We’ve been practicing every day writing her name, Addie’s name, mom and dad. She’s been working really hard!

One morning we made Valentine’s day houses (thanks to my friend Jamie’s genius idea!) Ellie thought it was the best morning ever. We brought a few pre-made houses and a bag of candy and supplies over to her friends that were sick, too. It was a hit!

Addie was usually right next to us during our Valentine’s crafting and house making. She attempted to eat every piece of paper in sight!

The weather here has been SUPER foggy and cold (yuck!), so we decided to head down to Southern Utah for a long weekend.

Best decision ever to head down south. Sunshine! Blue skies! Hallelujah! Alos, time to retire Addie’s dress. It’s a little short! πŸ˜‰

Ellie was in heaven at Gramma’s house. Where else do you get to play in the sprinklers in February? We were all in desperate need of sunshine, so this weekend was heaven sent!

The only picture I got this weekend of me and my Valentine! (and also Addie and our niece Rebecca). We spent Saturday and Monday checking out the St. George Parade of Homes. Talk about amazing! We don’t exchange gifts on Valentines day (by mutual agreement!) but being able to spend hours in the sunshine together was the perfect Valentine’s gift!

All my siblings were in town, along with a few of Brian’s too, so we had a big Call/Zurcher family dinner in my parents backyard for Valentine’s day!

With my niece Camilla and Addie checking out this gorgeous little nook! Dream office space!

Addie adores Gracie. And Ellie loves Erin. We joke that it’s becuase each pair has verrry similar personalities. (Seriously, though! It’s adorable)

Ellie got to go to Gramma’s preschool one day and she was beyond thrilled about it!

And a final photo of a pool from the parade of homes. (I think this one was from Marie Osmond’s house!) It was such a fun weekend in the sunshine with my cute valentines. XOXO

These photos are adorable! I'm so excited for when our little Sully (currently 10 months) gets old enough to enjoy holidays. What a fun trip home and I feel ya on needing some warm weather, we got more snow here in DC this week, ugh.

That last pic makes me think summer is just around the corner…I would die to sit in that fire pit! So fun! And that's awesome that Ellie can write her name on all her valentines!
