Last week’s Family Home Evening was one for the books. Holding family night every Monday with a two year old that does not like to sit still can be rather challenging, but last week was one of those glorious, rare weeks where everything went smoothly! We sang three times the amount of primary songs we usually sing (per Ellie’s request, of course) and she helped give a little lesson from the Friend.
Of course, we always end Family Night with some kind of a dessert and this particular one was a hit! It’s been super warm (100+ degrees!) so baking? Not an option! (Especially for this super pregnant lady 🙂 We’ve had ice cream quite frequently as of late (pregnancy cravings, remember?), so I really wanted a different option. Enter EDWARDS® Whole Pies. My new favorite way to enjoy dessert without spending any time in the kitchen or heating up the house with the oven! Blessed day!
A pie picnic sounded like the perfect way to end our evening, so we toted everything down to the backyard. Our Let’s Playground mat has been a huge hit this summer. We use it for everything – picnics, the splash pad, painting projects, you name it! So we let Ellie go to town on a piece of pie (we tried the Reese’s one, it was amazing!) and didn’t even mind the mess since it wipes off the mat so easily.
The perfect end to our little family home evening. We’ll definitely be going back to Walmart for a few more pies for family events and neighborhood get togethers. Even if the weather cools down, who knows what it will be like baking with two little ones in the kitchen. We’ll find out soon enough! (Plus at Walmart right now you can save $1.00 on any ONE (1) EDWARDS® Whole Pie by with the Ibotta digital rebate, while supplies last) Do you have a specific night set aside for family time? What’s your favorite summer no-bake dessert?
How fun is this?!
Looks divine! A no bake pie is right up my alley too! 🙂
