ELLIE IS OFFICIALLY POTTY TRAINED! That sentence necessitated all caps, of course. It’s been a long time coming. I mean, the whole plan was to get her potty trained in three days flat…and that was like seven months ago. Ha! We tried for a day or two, then I realized she wasn’t ready, it wasn’t worthy my sanity, and diapers aren’t all that bad! 😉 Then SHE was ready and I was in my first trimester and plagued with the flu. Again, diapers = not all the bad! Finally, months later, we tried it again and SUCCESS! (Knock on wood) We haven’t pulled out diapers in weeks (not even for nap or night time) and we sing the Daniel Tiger potty song like it’s our job. We still have a few little accidents here and there, but hey, I pee my pants every time I sneeze! 😉
I’ve been without a cellular device for 4.5 weeks. Yes, you read that correctly. Hashtag first world problems. I know, I know. It was a great detox from social media and checking my email every 2 seconds, but it sure was lonely not being able to call anyone! Anyway, after attempting to get it to work (it didn’t), calling the manufacturer (warranty is expired), trying to fix the broken phone (tried and failed), and waiting patiently for a new (new to me) phone to arrive by mail…it finally came! Hallelujah, blessed day! Turns out, I needed to go buy a new sim card so we headed to Walmart and as it also turns out, they no longer carry them in the store. “Order one online!” they said. Online. Shipping. More days of waiting. Ahh! So I did what any rational, reasonable, level headed, normal, non-hormonal person would do in that situation. I cried in the middle of the pretzel aisle at Walmart. Hashtag pregnant. Hashtag first world problems. Hashtag embarrassing. 😉
Speaking of being pregnant…hello 30 weeks! (One day shy but we’re rounding up!) I’m feeling the full effects of heartburn and being kicked in the ribs, but only 10ish weeks left so all is well! I finally made the switch to maternity jeans though I pretty much live in dresses these days. Current cravings: otter pops and Cafe Rio. 😉 The other night I finally had the oh-my-goodness-we-are-having-a-baby-and-we-have-nothing-ready-oh-my-oh-my-oh-me-oh-my moment. Then by morning, I’d forgotten all about it 😉 Pretty sure I had all of Ellie’s clothing washed and folded and everything else prepped and ready at this point in pregnancy. This time around, I’ll probably be making a stop at Target on the way to the hospital. Ha!
I think it is time to conclude this long winded, completely random post. Thank you for reading all about the Zurcher family’s random events of the week. Join us next time as we talk about our twenty cent gold fish that are determined to live forever and phrases our daughter has picked up on (aka yelling at drivers on the road 😉 XO
Hooray for potty-training! Congrats!
These photos are so sweet. Congratulations on the potty training, I hope that you had a lovely Mother's Day. I've probably cried at Walmart non-preggo. 🙂 XO -Alexandra
