Once upon a time, there was a little girl and her mother who loved Disney Princesses…
In fact, I have a slight obsession with Disney Princesses. “Please leave your name, number, and favorite Disney Princess after the beep” was my answering machine message for years. One of my old bosses got a kick out of it (actually, I think that’s how I landed the job!) I frequently hosted Princess waffle parties, late into my teens and college days, with my Cinderella waffle maker. Now, Ellie and I frequently make princess waffles, have Disney princess dance parties, and every Sunday we pick a Disney movie to watch. When we heard that Sleeping Beauty on Blu Ray was coming out last week (yay!), Ellie and I decided this was a perfect opportunity to throw a princess party. I mean, with her mother’s obsession with princesses, it only seemed right. 😉
Ellie handed out invitations to her little friends in the neighborhood, and we got to work turning our house into a fairy tale. I think Brian was slightly overwhelmed with the sheer amount of pink and purple in the house, but it looked magical. Brian helped me turn each corner of our main floor into different Princess sections. Belle’s Beauty Salon, A Bite with Snow White, Cinderella’s Shoe Shoppe, and more! (Free printables below!)
It wouldn’t be a spa day without the proper pampering. Not only did each Princess get a brush for their lovely locks, but pink nail polish too. They all squealed! To top it off, a glittery crown!
I planned on letting each girl pick out a pair of Disney Princess shoes at Cinderella’s Shoe Shoppe after they had their toenails painted. Proper princesses must have fancy shoes, right? If only they made some in my size. 🙂
After an afternoon of pampering, I assumed the little girls would be famished, so I sent them all home with a sugar high. Sugar cookies, frosting, and toppings for them to decorate their cookies with. I completed the look with princess paper goods from Walmart, perfection!
I made homemade wands for the Wand Shoppe, perfect for making wishes come true! Simply take a glittery page of foam, cut into stars, and attach with hot glue to a wooden dowel or skewer, and different colors of ribbon to make a similar look.
And last but not least, Sleeping Beauty’s Dress Boutique. Brian made this incredibly awesome dress up stand (the night before! He’s superman) so I could hang up all their Princess costumes for the party.
In one of the decoration packages I purchased from Walmart, it came with these darling photo props of little Disney animals and characters. I hid them around the room so the little girls could find them. They were darling and the perfect little touch! I also blew up half a million balloons (whew!) to make two balloon towers. So cute to watch the girls run between them.
A few of our princess friends, getting pampered and crowned. They were all so darling and gracious throughout the whole party.
Freshly painted nails and jewelry to adorn those painted fingers from Ariel’s Treasure Trove. I had a few of the mom’s stay and help me. Life savers!
How adorable are these Princesses? Showing off their nails and hair, and saying BIPPITY BOPPITY BOO! “
So much fun pampering these little princesses for the day. They curtseyed and twirled and giggled all afternoon long.
Love my little princess Ellie. Want to throw a Princess party of your own? I purchased all my party supplies at Walmart (including our movie, wand supplies, and yummy treats!) They were exactly what I needed to make this party a complete fairy tale. From now until Halloween, you can save $3 on any $10 purchase of American Greetings Disney-themed party goods. Score!
If you would like to use the Princess printables (posters and quotes!) we used in this party, you can download them here. The posters are sized as 11×14 and quotes as small 4×6.
And they all lived happily ever after. The end.
Well this is the cutest thing EVER!!
