Midway through the week and completely fed up with the snow, Brian suggested that we take a little surprise trip down to St. George for the weekend. He didn’t have to ask me twice! With my mom in on the secret, we headed down Friday night and surprised the family. Ellie was beyond thrilled to be showered with attention all weekend…and play in the dirt! She has everyone wrapped around her little finger. Needless to say, she was well taken care of and completely loved. She, along with the rest of us, stayed in our pajamas for the most greater part of the weekend while we watched General Conference on tv. To say we came away edified, uplifted, and encouraged would be an understatement! We loved hearing from a living prophet and spending time together as a family. Other things we enjoyed: huge breakfasts, feeding the chickens, exploring the yard, laying in the sunshine, and getting manicures from grandma! A quick drive back and we’re settled home, dreaming of the next time we head to sunny St. George!
And…if you need any further proof that my child has the craziest hair alive, take a look at the photos below. No amount of shampoo, conditioner, detangler, or product can contain it 😉
Loved having you all here! What a treat that was! Thanks for coming down and making such fun memories with us. President Monson encouraged us to strengthen family bonds – just what we were doing! Love you all so much xoxoxooxoxo

Oh MOM, you are right! I remember pictures of Amy's hair sticking up like her granddaughters!! You know that means she will have a full head of lush Sharkey girl hair when she gets bigger! Lex, love that you go visit your mom and dad and family so often. I love you all so very much and St George is one of my favorite places on this earth. xoxoxox
