My 22nd birthday was oh so fun! The doc gave me some meds so I was at least feeling a little better (dang walking pneumonia!) I was spoiled silly and got to wear my crown all day. 😉 We went to dinner at Olive Garden to chow down on some delicious breadsticks and Ellie loved it. Ok, she loved throwing her food and spilling her water all over, but whatever. Good thing they sat us in a corner away from everyone else. Life with a one year old keeps you on your feet! (And constantly cleaning up the floor 😉 Ha! Needless to say, it was an excellent day!
Speaking of food and Olive Garden, let me just say two words: pumpkin cheesecake. Let me say that again, PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE! My favorite. (And my dear husband who is not a fan of pumpkin and hates cheesecake LOVES olive garden’s pumpkin cheesecake. That’s how good it is. Try it, you’ll thank me.)
There’s not much to report around here except that we have been sick, sick, slightly better, sick, sick. Pneumonia, stomach flu, colds, croup, more flu, you name it, we’ve got it. We’re all going all little stir crazy inside, but every time we step outside the house we get sick again! Boo. Steer clear of our house, yuck!
Ellie and I have had to get creative staying inside. She’s my little outdoor girl and she really hates being cooped up! Today we made the best chocolate chip cookies (seriously. recipe to come soon!) She was quite clingy today so I let her help and made them one handed. (I’m going to add that to my resume!) I always forget how much she loves to help. It takes twice and long and we make a much bigger mess but it’s totally worth it to see her cute smile. She concentrates so hard while she dumps in the sugar and flour, and as she stirs she looks up at me with a big huge smile. Melts. My. Heart. We also pulled out the paints for a little project. After we finished our project, I gave up trying to keep her clean and let her go to town. She may have been covered in paint, but she loved every minute of it. I’m learning that it’s totally worth it to let her explore and make a mess. It doesn’t take that long to clean up but it keeps her entertained for a long time! And her giggles are priceless.
Alright, alright, enough rambling! I must go to bed! But before I do, you’re all invited to a PARTY this weekend! Best weekend of the year. Bijou Market is this Friday & Saturday and yours truly is going to be a vendor! Yippee! This is the best place to get Christmas gifts (and pick up a thing or two for yourself!) and support local businesses at the same time.
Happy Wednesday, er, I guess now it’s Thursday! And to all a good night!
