Someone started eating solids everyday now and boy, it’s quite the messy process. Sweet potatoes seem to be the favorite thus far, along with throwing soggy baby biscuit/cookie things all over the kitchen. Now that’s she’s eating real food a few times a day, Miss Ellie thinks she’s all grown up. Yesterday she started scooting all over the house. Yes, SCOOTING! All over the living room, to the kitchen, down the hallway, she’s a scooting maniac. And all in one day! Brian took one look at all the scooting when he got home from work and declared that this was the weekend of baby proofing. Probably a good thing, since there’s wrapping paper and drawing pads stored under all the couches, and electronics and cords everywhere. And man, do I need to vacuum! I declare it the weekend of a clean house! (I’ve totally neglected any household chore this week.)
Last night by 10pm I was a tired mess, so I handed Brian a sleeping baby and excused myself for a nice warm bath, a bowl of chocolate ice cream, and some parenting magazine that was missing half the pages. (Who needs toys when you have magazines, right? 🙂 Sure is nice to get 15 minutes of peace and quiet (and me time!)
ALSO! Yesterday while I was at Target (we won’t mention how many times I’ve been there this week) I got to meet the incredibly sweet and talented Nie from the Nie Nie Dialogues. She’s my favorite blogger and author. I’m still star struck. 😉 She was the sweetest and didn’t think I was completely nuts when I asked for a picture with her! If you haven’t read her book, Heaven is Here, do so now. Like RIGHT NOW. It’s inspiring and uplifting and JUST GO READ IT 🙂
And thus ends my ramblings for today. HAPPY WEEKEND! (Holy cow, it’s FRIDAY already!)
