Thank you for all your sweet, sweet comments!
We couldn’t be more excited to have a little Zurchling on the way, and share the news with you!
I contemplated waiting to tell everyone till I was a little further along,
in fact it’s “recommended” to wait just in case of miscarriage. But if we are going to miscarry,
I’d rather have our friends and family around for support, rather than keep it our sad secret.
The initial shock/freak out is over now.
But we’re still finding it hard to believe that there’s a zurchling in there!
Not much of a belly, if there is it’s just bloating. Blah.
As for being sick, as long as I’m eating every. single. hour. my tummy feels fine.
This week little zurchling wants icecream, apples, chili and mustard on everything
(I have never liked mustard until now!) but refuses to eat anything chocolate.
(are we sure this is my child??)
The worst part is the smell of food.It drives me wild!
I can’t stand any lingering smell in our house, so cooking is very limited to sandwiches and other things with minimal smells.
The other day we cooked our crockpot dinner on the front porch to avoid our house smelling up a storm.
(it works like a charm by the way! home cooked meal and no icky smells)
I pretty much take naps everyday and have to pee a whole heck of a lot.
In fact, I just watched the Ellen show and had to get up three times to pee. Three!!!
TMI? Sorry. 🙂
We couldn’t be more excited for baby z to arrive.
If you have any little zurchling questions feel free to ask!
Pretty sure it’s already nap time!

Aw congrats again! My husband and I will probably be trying for a baby in the next year and a half or so (have to finish school first) but it will be so exciting to read about your journey!! And I'm sure the baby can be trained to like chocolate 😉

  • Marli

i can't tell you how excited i am to be able to read about this adventure. 🙂 your blog is so special…

i hope your morning sickness isn't that bad and that you will have a healthy pregnancy.

Baby Z doesn't like chocolate?! That's gonna have to change! Give it a little longer; I'm sure baby will learn momma knows best. ;]

I think it's funny that you've never liked mustard until now. I happen to love mustard but know not a lot of people do! & that's hilarious that you've used your crock pot outside.

I'm so excited for you & this new phase of your life, and thankful you're taking us on the journey with you.

    A few things:

First, good luck with food. I lost a ton of weight my first trimester because of food smells. And sights! I couldn't watch tv sometimes because food commercials made me gag and vomit in my nose. Tmi? Maybe. Sorry.

Second, I recommend the book "Your Pregnancy Week by Week." One chapter, every week. I felt like "What to Expect" was overwhelming with all the info all the time and some of it doesn't even apply till way later in your pregnancy.

Also, feel free to take or not take any advice that I or anyone else may [read: WILL] give you. Pregnancy is a personal experience, so do what works for you.

    Love the updates!

I remember going through the not liking chocolate phase too, with my first pregnancy (Cambria), I was so upset, because I LOVE CHOCOLATE. It lasted 6 months, but believe me, it came back. I am so excited for you Alexa, you two are going to be adorable parents. and it's going to be fun to follow you on this next adventure!!!

  • Madeline

Are you doing weekly bump updates? That would be awesome!

  • Alexis

im itching to know if it's a she or a he.
and to see how creative you guys will get with the names.
i know its way way way early for both of those, but thats probably two of the most exciting things when you know someone expecting. the name ideas, and of course. the gender 🙂
